Living Poet Final Project & Presentation

As an end-of-year project, educator Jennifer Stuckey had her students choose a living poet to showcase. Stuckey teaches English at Brookville High School in Virginia.

Project Objectives: 

  • Share what you’ve learned about your chosen living poet and the poet’s work
  • Entice fellow readers to explore this poet’s work

Have students explore the Living Poets Virtual Library to find their poet of choice!

Project components:

Title slide

Bio slide

Chosen poem slides

A poetry broadside

A thesis in which you make a defensible claim about how the poet reveals a complex idea in your chosen poem

Choose three literary elements to highlight

Presentation using Screencast-o-matic
